Going Underground

Hey guess what I did today!

Go ahead, guess!

I actually got writing done! Like a lot of it!

I'm so proud of what I did tonight. It's been a while since I've been this excited about a project. It started out with me just playing around on The Sims 4 and I had planned on doing it for NaNoWriMo but then decided to just do it now because I couldn't wait that long! As you can tell by my long sentences!

So here are my stats for today!

Project: Going Underground
New Words Written: 2610
Present Total Word Count: 2610

Things Accomplished in Fiction: The beginning, mostly. We introduced the characters, hinted at something having gone completely shitty in the world for the characters to be in the situation they're in, and an anomaly that's going to turn the community on their heads.

Things Accomplished in Real Life: I went grocery shopping with my mom, mostly, and bought some mix to make Reeses squares tomorrow. I had an American Horror Story marathon until about 10 or 11, th…

Ways to Relax When You're Sick

I posted earlier today that I was sick and had to spend the day relaxing so I can get better. I decided that today would be a good day to write about how to relax when you're sick and sort of want to curl into a ball and disappear.

Being sick is no fun. You're too tired to do anything but, if you're like me, you feel like you ought to be up and doing something. But right now it's more important than ever to give your mind and body a rest so your immune system can do its job and make you better.

😷Read a Book: Sometimes one of the best ways to spend a day when you can't do much is to curl up beneath your blankets with a good book. It's low impact and allows you an opportunity to escape the reality of being miserable. Tonight while I'm sick, I'm reading Erin Morgenstern's "The Night Circus."

😷Watch TV/Movies: If you just want to mentally shut down for a time, then I suggest watching a movie or television show you enjoy. I usually like somet…

A Rainy Day Spent in Bed

When I woke up this morning I didn't think I was going to go downhill so quickly. But that's how life goes, isn't it? We never know what each day will bring.

Last night I had an impossible time sleeping. By the time I did get to sleep it was well past 6 A.M. and I had to get up by at least 11 to get to work on time. The thing that finally helped was listening to my Silent Hill 3 soundtrack on my headphones and sleeping on the couch. I slept until the sun came in through my living room window and made it impossible to stay. Then I gathered up my iPod and the big fan I brought with me from the bedroom, crawled into bed with my husband, and proceeded to sleep for another two hours.

Two hours which, by the way, was spent in a horrible nightmare that snakes were everywhere and crawling in through my pant leg and up my sleeves. I literally jerked awake.

During the night Danny told me I probably shouldn't go to work today. I was too tired and he noticed during the several tim…
